Game overview

What Rogue Blight actually is

Rogue Blight split view: a wanderer with a glowing blade beside the branching map of enemy, chest, shop, and boss nodes.

Rogue Blight is a 2D souls-inspired rogue-lite from solo developer CodeRadGames, released on Steam on 3 September 2026. You fight one-on-one through blighted chapters, pick a path on a Slay the Spire-style map, and dual-wield swords, daggers, wands, or a left-hand shield. Death is punishing, but gold and fungus currencies buy permanent upgrades between runs. Start with the getting started guide, learn controls and combat, then craft a weapon build and check the weapons tier list before your first boss. Story mode walks Waywood Forest, Fireworn City, and Blight Castle, then loops into infinite New Game+ and Challenge Maps. Spend Fungi on permanent upgrades. Status reference lives in status effects. Read our review and launch notes if you are still deciding.

Quick start

A first-run path from the tutorial grave to your first boss.

  1. 1

    Learn the inputs

Rogue Blight is stamina-gated souls combat. Read the controls guide for keyboard, mouse-aim swings, and full controller support before you take a real hit.

  2. 2

    Survive the first map

Follow getting started through Waywood Forest: pick enemy, chest, shop, statue, blacksmith, and boss nodes without overextending.

  3. 3

    Build around two hands

Every weapon is one-handed. Mix swords, daggers, wands, or a left-hand shield using the weapons and builds guide and the weapons tier list.

  4. 4

    Stack a status plan

Bleed, Poison, Burn, Freeze, Shock, Choke, Shatter, Life Splash, Darkness, and Light Struck all apply to bosses. Use the status effects tool before you commit blessings.

  5. 5

Beat the chapter boss, then loop

Study boss tells, finish the story walkthrough, spend Fungi on permanent upgrades, then climb New Game+ or a Challenge Map.
