How to Beat Rogue Blight Bosses
Stamina, tells, heal windows, and named story fights — without fake move lists.
Rogue Blight treats bosses as the point of the run, not a timer at the end of a hallway. CodeRadGames built most encounters as one-on-one duels: a single enemy with a long animation list in a tight arena. Story bosses are that idea with more health, nastier tells, and a map node you cannot skip if you want the chapter. Official copy lists about 17 story bosses. This page is a method guide plus a roster of confirmed names. It is not a damage spreadsheet, and it does not invent attack titles we have not seen in Steam text, developer posts, or public demo footage.
If regular duels still empty your stamina bar, fix that in the combat guide before you treat this as a boss checklist. The chapter walkthrough covers how to arrive at the arena with potions and a blessing you actually understand.
Stamina is the real health bar
Every swing, roll, and skill is a bet against the next windup. Empty stamina in a boss arena is how you eat a full combo. Hold one roll in reserve. Do not empty the bar for a third hit unless you have already seen that recovery window twice.
Same-type dual-wield — two swords, two daggers, or two wands — is a stance the in-game Captain explains in the demo: you attack with both weapons at once, but attack damage and status apply rate drop by 40%. That is a demo NPC line, not a launch patch note. It still works if you play the stamina budget. Mixed loadouts (sword plus wand, dagger plus left-hand shield) skip that same-type stance and ask you to spend skills on purpose.
Shields are left-hand only. A block is not a substitute for a roll against grabs. Skills cost mana; a parry dagger in demo footage spent mana to deflect and stagger. If your boss plan is “parry forever,” you also need a mana plan.
Reading tells without a fake move list
Watch the windup, not the health bar. If the animation has started, commit to the response you practiced. Panic-canceling into a heal is how you die.
What we can confirm from public material:
- Gorilla fills space. Demo players describe a huge ape-like (sometimes skeletal) body with wide slams. Treat it as a spacing exam.
- Wendigo has a grab. CodeRad posted that grab as its own short. Demo runs also show summoned adds, poison pressure on the player, and a mid-fight shift around half health. That is footage, not a lab-tested phase chart.
For every other named boss, assume a gimmick. Konrad (CodeRad) has said he starts a boss with a gimmick, then builds moves around it. Learn the first two attacks on a death, then stop greed-hitting. Small arenas punish people who chase a punish they have not earned.
When to heal
Drink after a combo, when the boss is recovering, not during a windup. If you need space, roll once, then use the potion. A heal that gets clipped is two resources gone.
If the map offers a bonfire on the path to the boss node, take it. Permanent upgrades can let bonfires refill potions — spend Funguy on that before you try to out-heal a chapter climax. Keep at least one potion for the arena itself.
Demo chests can roll a Second Life style blessing: prevent death, a few seconds of invincibility, then the blessing is destroyed. That is a panic button, not a plan. Do not burn it on a trash node two steps before the boss.
Statue nodes raise health, mana, or stamina. A bigger health pool does not replace a heal window. It only gives you one extra mistake.
Status effects on bosses
Steam copy is explicit: you can apply Bleed, Poison, Burn, Freeze, Shock, Choke, Shatter, Life Splash, Darkness, and Light Struck to enemies including bosses. Do not invent immunities. Build a plan on the status effects page, then test it in a real arena.
Demo footage of Wendigo includes poison on the player. Status is a two-way street. New Game+ raises enemy status apply rate along with damage, speed, health, and size. A build that ignored status on the first clear will feel dishonest on later loops.
Do not farm a spreadsheet of “DPS per tick.” Apply a status you can refresh without emptying stamina, then play the duel. Dual-wield’s 40% status apply penalty (same-type stance, demo NPC) matters here: if your whole plan is Freeze or Bleed, mixed hands or a dedicated applicator may be cleaner than two matching weapons you cannot proc with.
Named story bosses
Official materials name Gorilla, Wendigo, Statue Dweller, Illdrake Knight, Royal Rotter, Blight Lady, and The Blight among the 17. The rest exist in the full release; they are not published with public move cards. Konrad expanded the roster after watching the demo — he originally planned seven bosses, then pushed toward 17 because players wanted more walls, not a shorter campaign.
Gorilla
An early Waywood Forest wall and a fixture of the public demo. Demo drops included gold, Funguy, and gear. Fight it like a souls mid-boss: respect the wide hitboxes, do not stand under the body after a slam, and leave when stamina is empty. We do not have a verified full move list. If a streamer called out a “grenade” or a ground slam, treat that as that run’s footage, not as a wiki combo chart.
Wendigo
Chapter 1 / demo final. The grab is the one confirmed specialty. If it connects, you are in a committed punish — play for the tell. Demo players also talk about adds and a transformation around half health; use that as a warning to save a potion, not as a script you memorize from this paragraph.
Helrayzr cleared a no-hit run to Wendigo on Difficulty 3 during a demo community challenge. CodeRad immortalized that player as an NPC in ? areas of the full game. Use that as a skill bar, not as homework.
Statue Dweller, Illdrake Knight, Royal Rotter
Confirmed names, no public frame data. Konrad’s interviews describe bosses built around a gimmick. One design example he gave was an undead dragon knight idea with lightning walls and an electrified floor — that was a process example, not a labeled assignment to Illdrake Knight. Do not map interview sketches onto names unless you have seen the fight. Arrive with potions, a status you can actually apply, and a loadout you have swung for a full map.
Blight Lady and The Blight
The official plot summary casts the Blight Lady as the usurper who corrupted revival magic and twisted the land. The soundtrack lists The Lady of Blight and The Final Blight. Treat these as late-story climaxes in Blight Castle, not as elites you stumble into on a side path. Konrad has also mentioned adding a giant dragon as a set-piece because “dragons are just cool.” That is an interview comment. It is not a seventeenth proper name on the Steam list.
CodeRad’s older project-scope page also floated a short extra chapter, The Blight Heart, after enough story clears, holding a true final boss. Treat that as developer scope, then confirm it in your own save. This wiki will not write a fake last-phase guide for a fight we have not documented from launch play.
After the kill
Spend gold and Funguy on upgrades that help the next arena: potion economy, statue value, shop stock, blacksmith forge points. Cosmetics wait. Then either continue the walkthrough or start a New Game+ loop once the fight is in your hands, not in a lucky blessing.
The honest skill check is whether you can leave a punish on the table. These arenas are small and the animations are long. The grab you respect is the one you survive; the extra hit you skip is the run you keep.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many bosses are in Rogue Blight?
Official copy lists about 17 story bosses, including Gorilla, Wendigo, Statue Dweller, Illdrake Knight, Royal Rotter, Blight Lady, and The Blight. The public demo ended at Wendigo in Waywood Forest. The rest of the roster is in the full three-chapter story plus whatever extra fights your save actually unlocks.
Does Wendigo really grab you?
Yes. CodeRad posted a dedicated Wendigo grab clip, and demo runs show it as a committed punish if it connects. Play the windup; do not greed a third hit when the arms come in.
Can status effects work on bosses?
Steam copy says Bleed, Poison, Burn, Freeze, Shock, Choke, Shatter, Life Splash, Darkness, and Light Struck apply to any enemy, including bosses. See the status effects page. This wiki does not invent immunities or DPS tables.
When should I heal in a boss fight?
After a combo, during the boss recovery — not during a windup. Roll once to make space if you must. Take a bonfire node before the arena when the map allows, and keep one potion for the fight itself.
Who is Helrayzr?
A demo player who no-hit Wendigo on Difficulty 3. CodeRad immortalized that run as an NPC you can meet in ? areas of the full game. It is a skill bar, not a required challenge.
Should I start New Game+ before I learn the bosses?
No. Learn the duels on the first story loop. New Game+ raises enemy damage, speed, health, size, and status apply rate. A grab that was fair on difficulty 1 becomes a run ender when the model is larger and faster.
