Rogue Blight Weapons Tier List
Family ranks for launch week. Named weapons are footage-based, not a complete 50-item table.
Rogue Blight’s Steam page is blunt: all weapons are one-handed, you wear sword, daggers, wands, or a shield on a hand to make a build, shields are left-hand only, and there are over 50 weapons, each with a unique skill. This page ranks families and playstyles, not a fake 50-row DPS table. Letter grades are community / launch-week guidance after the 3 September 2026 Steam launch. If a tooltip in your build disagrees with a letter here, trust the tooltip.
For pairing rules, smelting, and skill sequencing, use the weapons and builds guide. For finished loadouts, use the builds tier list. Blessings that change a family from B to S live on the blessings tier list.
Dual-wield vs mixed hands
Public footage of the in-game captain is the cleanest dual-wield explanation we have:
- Two weapons of the same type (two swords, two daggers, two wands) enter dual-wield stance.
- You attack with both at once.
- Attack damage and status apply rate are reduced by 40%.
That 40% cut is why we refuse to stamp “dual everything” as S. Dual daggers recover apply rate with hit count. Dual swords recover with range and poise. Dual wands recover only if mana exists. Mixed types do not get the stance: you swing one skill, then the other, at full damage and full apply rate. Mixed is often the better first-week plan if your combat timing is still sloppy.
Strength scales damage. Intelligence scales mana and elemental damage. Dexterity scales crit chance and stamina recovery. Those three stats, from public footage, are enough to explain why a dex dagger pair and a strength sword-and-shield pair want different statues and shops.
S-tier families (launch week)
Dual daggers — S. Fastest hit cadence in the four families. Best default for Bleed and Poison stackers, and still excellent for Shock or Darkness if those weapons drop. The 40% apply-rate penalty hurts less when you land many hits per stamina bar. Weakness: short range and low poise into Gorilla-sized bosses. If you cannot dodge, this family falls to A immediately. Named example from footage: Iron Dagger with Dashing Thrust (pierce forward).
Sword plus left-hand shield — S for first clears. Not the highest damage. It is the highest completion rate for players leaving the getting started path. The shield’s unique skill is a second defensive verb (block, parry, or shield art — read the tooltip) while the right-hand sword keeps range. This is the pair we point at for Waywood Forest bosses and for anyone touching Challenge Maps on one life. Once you can no-hit a chapter, trade the shield for a second damage skill.
A-tier families
Dual swords — A. Same-type stance, 40% damage cut, but both blades swing and you keep reach. Footage names Iron Sword (Rising Slash), Fire Sword, Wooden Sword as the tutorial stick, and Iron Rapier with dominant dex scaling. Fire Sword is the status cousin: it wants Burn blessings, not a second slow brick. Dual swords lose to dual daggers on apply rate and lose to sword-and-shield on safety. They win on “I can hit the boss without standing in the grab.”
Dual wands / wand caster — A. Mana-gated, Intelligence-scaled, best family for fighting from a lane. Footage shows a Wooden Wand as an early option and Fire Wand pairs that dump Burn if attack speed is blessed. Dual fire wands look like a machine gun until the mana potion is empty. Without bonfire refills and statue mana, this family is B. With them, it is the cleanest way to apply Burn, Freeze, Shock, or Light Struck without eating a melee combo.
Mixed sword and dagger — A. Full damage, full apply rate, two different skills. Typical plan: dagger to start a status, sword to punish the opening. You give up dual-wield stance. You keep flexibility when the shop refuses to sell a matching pair.
B-tier families
Wand plus melee mix — B unless your stats agree. Splitting Strength and Intelligence makes statues awkward. Worth it when a unique wand skill (long Freeze, Light Struck, Life Splash) is the only answer to a boss tell. Otherwise smelt the weaker hand at the blacksmith.
Shield after you already dodge — B. The left-hand slot is a second unique skill. Once combat clicks, that slot wants damage, status, or a wand. Keep the shield for Challenge Maps, New Game+ size modifiers, and any boss you have not learned.
Starter sticks — B as bridges. Wooden Sword, Wooden Wand, and similar tutorial gear exist to die at the blacksmith. Upgrade into Iron, then into elemental or legendary-looking drops. Do not protect a wooden weapon out of nostalgia.
Torch off-hand — unranked family, footage note. Streams have swapped a shield for a Torch. Treat it as a flavor/status off-hand, not a fourth official family. Steam’s four families remain sword, daggers, wands, shield.
Named weapons we can actually document
This is not a complete encyclopedia. These names showed up in public footage or obvious starter gear. No invented attack numbers.
| Name | Family | Footage / role note |
|---|---|---|
| Wooden Sword | Sword | Tutorial / early bridge |
| Iron Sword | Sword | Rising Slash; strength-leaning upgrade |
| Iron Rapier | Sword | Dex-leaning; still a sword family piece |
| Fire Sword | Sword | Burn carrier; dual-wield fantasy with a second fire piece |
| Iron Dagger | Daggers | Dashing Thrust; dual-dagger S-core |
| Wooden Wand | Wands | Early caster option at map start in some footage |
| Fire Wand | Wands | Burn projectile; dual-wand A-core if mana holds |
| Torch | Off-hand | Footage swap; not a Steam family |
| Shield (generic) | Shield | Left-hand only |
If your run drops a legendary with a unique name not in this table, do not wait for this page. Read the skill. If it is a dagger, it inherits dual-dagger logic. If it is a wand, inherit wand logic. Then check blessings before you overwrite a working pair.
Shop, chest, and blacksmith
Buy a family upgrade, not a random higher number. A shop Iron Dagger next to a Wooden Sword is a dual-dagger invitation. A shop shield is a first-boss invitation. Chests in this game are blessing chests, not weapon piñatas — see map encounters. Spare armor and duplicate weapons go to the blacksmith to smelt into upgrades. A +1 Fire Sword you already use beats a closet of novices.
Leveling the character unlocks more weapons, gear, and blessings for later runs. That meta unlock curve is why Funguy spending matters more than hoarding a single B-tier drop.
New Game+ and Challenge Maps
Infinite New Game+ raises enemy damage, speed, health, size, and status apply rate. Big, fast enemies punish short daggers unless your dodge is already good. Size modifiers make wand lanes and sword reach more valuable. Challenge Maps are one attempt: start shield or Second Life, not a glass dual-wand, unless you already no-hit the demo.
When two families look equal, pick the one whose unique skills you can aim. Mouse-aim swings and controller aim both work; the combat guide covers the inputs. This list will move after the first balance patch. Until then, rank the hands, not a fictional 50-weapon ladder.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Where is the full 50-weapon ranked table?
There is not one on this wiki. Steam confirms 50+ unique skills, but public footage only names a handful. We rank swords, daggers, wands, and shields as families. Invented DPS numbers would be fiction.
Is dual-wield always stronger than mixed hands?
No. Same-type dual-wield cuts attack damage and status apply rate by 40%. Mixed sword plus dagger keeps full per-swing values. See builds for when each plan wins.
Can I put a shield in the right hand?
No. Steam states shields are left-hand only. Right hand wants a sword, dagger, or wand. Details in the weapons and builds guide.
Which family should a new player take?
Sword plus left-hand shield until you clear Waywood Forest. Then dual daggers if you can dodge, or dual swords if you want reach. Start with getting started.
Do named weapons in footage have hidden stats?
We do not publish numbers we have not seen. Iron Sword, Iron Dagger, Fire Sword, Fire Wand, Iron Rapier, Wooden Sword, Wooden Wand, and Torch are documented as names and skills only.
Should I smelt a family I might use later?
Smelt duplicates and starter sticks. Keep one backup family if the shop is dry. Blacksmith routing is covered on map encounters.
