Rogue Blight Launch Notes
Day-one recap for 3 September 2026 — what 1.0 actually put on Steam.
CodeRadGames unlocked Rogue Blight 1.0 on Steam on Thursday, 3 September 2026 at 4:00 PM BST / 11:00 AM EDT / 8:00 AM PDT. The Steam news post’s tone was the one you would expect after years of a public demo: the game is out, you walk a Slay the Spire-style map, and you fight a wide enemy roster. This page is the factual recap — price, platforms, systems that shipped, DLC, and the demo that remains. Play-feel opinion belongs in the review. First-run advice belongs in getting started. Official URLs belong on the links hub.
Price and editions
Steam ran an introductory offer through 17 September 2026. The US store printed a $12.99 listing with an extra 10% launch discount to $11.69. Regional prices vary; always check the live widget. A Supporter Edition bundle packaged the base game with the soundtrack and digital artbook (US bundle showed $15.90 after stacked discounts at launch). You do not need the bundle to play.
Family Sharing is enabled. There is no paid season pass. Challenge Maps and infinite New Game+ are in the base game.

What 1.0 shipped
Steam’s own copy is still the best inventory:
Combat. Souls-inspired 2D fighting, a large enemy and boss roster, infinite New Game+ that keeps escalating.
Character. All weapons one-handed. Sword, daggers, wands, or shield on a hand; shields left-hand only. 50+ weapons, each with a unique skill. Dual-wield matching types (footage: both swing, 40% less attack damage and status apply rate). Ten statuses — Bleed, Poison, Burn, Freeze, Shock, Choke, Shatter, Life Splash, Darkness, Light Struck — on any enemy including bosses. Blessings rewrite the current build. Character level unlocks more weapons, gear, and blessings. Permanent upgrades persist between runs (gold on the map, Funguy / fungus in the meta layer).
Map. Three randomly generated chapters: Waywood Forest, Fireworn City, Blight Castle. Node types: enemy, unknown event, blessing chest, shop, statue (health / mana / stamina), bonfire, blacksmith (smelt spare gear), boss. Challenge Maps: unique layouts, curses, modifiers, one attempt, leaderboards.
Progression after the story. Infinite New Game+ raises enemy damage, speed, health, size, and status apply rate. That is the long-term hook the demo already previewed with its “go left of the grave” leaderboard tease.
If you want ranks rather than a feature list, the weapons, blessings, and builds pages are launch-week community guidance, not a developer table.
Demo, still available
The demo (app 2336830) launched 4 December 2024 and remains on Steam after 1.0. It is the Waywood Forest slice: 20+ weapons in that build, the same status list, permanent upgrades, and the first bosses (Gorilla, Statue Dweller, Wendigo in that era’s news). It is the right download if your GPU is near the minimum spec or if you want to know whether stamina-gated 2D souls combat is for you before the intro offer ends.
Demo community history — patch 1.14 path generation, the no-hit challenge won by Helrayzr in March 2025, Medieval Fest 2026, Next Fest v1.18 — is summarized on the updates hub. The no-hit NPC was promised for full-game “?” events; look for it there, not in a separate DLC.
Soundtrack and artbook
Two paid extras launched the same day:
- Soundtrack (app 4970360) by Adam Greenlee, 21 tracks, MP3 + FLAC. Chapter themes include The Waywood Forest, The Fireworn City, The Blight Castle, The Lady of Blight, and The Final Blight, plus a Nikolas Yuri bonus vocal. Store page.
- Digital Artbook (app 4970460), 160+ pages, PDF, about $2.99. Open from the main-menu button or
DigitalArtbookDLCin the install folder. Store page.
Neither DLC changes combat, maps, or achievements.
Reception on day one
Steam’s all-reviews widget in the first hours sat at Very Positive: 97% of about 67 user reviews. That is a small sample. It matches a demo that had already been public for 21 months, not a cold launch. We will not pretend 67 reviews are a lifetime score. For a written take, open the review. For how to actually play the thing you just bought, open getting started and keep the official links handy for patch news.
What to do after purchase
- Play the in-game tutorial, then the first Waywood Forest map.
- Spend the intro-offer window only if you already know you want 1.0; the demo is free if you do not.
- Join Discord if you care about hotfixes from a solo dev.
- Ignore fake 50-weapon DPS tables. Rank families, not fiction.
- When a patch lands, it will be listed on the updates hub from Steam news — not from a rumor screenshot.
The announcement trailer is embedded on this page. It is the same ID the wiki homepage uses. There is no second secret launch cinematic in the DLC; the artbook is stills, the soundtrack is audio.
